Cold/Flu/Covid-19 Preparedness

Don’t panic, prepare. Take measures now to protect yourself and your loved ones from COVID-19. Wear a mask when around others.  Get tested if you think you have been exposed.  If you have concerns, call your physician. In an emergency, always dial 911.

Cold/Flu/Virus Preparedness

  • Stop touching your face so much (esp. eyes/nose/mouth)

  • Sneeze/cough into your elbow vs your hands

  • Wash your hands with warm water (at least 20 sec) often

  • Beware of hidden germs (doorknobs, light switches, etc)

  • Avoid shaking hands if possible. A "fist bump" is a healthier alternative

  • Use anti-bacterial wipes on your cell phone and shared keyboards/workstations

  • Throw used tissues away - don't keep them for re-use

  • Stay hydrated and take vitamins/supplements

  • If you're sick, please stay home and call your doctor

  • If you're sick and around others, wear an n95 mask

Coronavirus Preparedness

It's always a good idea to have a preparedness kit.  Here's what Cheryl recommends you have in your "coronavirus kit."

Try to have at least a 2-week supply of the following items:

  • Non-perishable food, water, vitamins, & OTC medications

  • Hygiene products (toilet paper, soap, hand sanitizer, toothpaste, diapers, tissues, lotion, feminine products, contact lenses/solution, etc.)

  • Cleaning supplies (disinfectant, detergent, paper towels, etc.)

  • Pet food, litter, & supplies

  • 30-day supply of prescription medications & supplies

  • A first aid kit, including a thermometer N95 mask if you are sick or caring for the ill

  • Medical ID wallet card or bracelet

  • Toys, books, games, DVDs and other items to help pass time
