When a hurricane is headed your way, there’s no time to start figuring out what needs to be done. The best time to prepare your building is before there’s a storm in the forecast.

I’m excited to share that my latest video is featured on BMS CAT and MarketScale, where I talk about practical steps facility teams can take to prepare their buildings.

Cheryl Nelson providing hurricane preparedness tips for BMS CAT and MarketScale.

From inspecting the building and securing vulnerable areas to reviewing emergency plans and making sure your team knows what to do, preparation can help reduce damage, protect people and property, and make recovery much easier after the storm.

Storms can intensify quickly and even a storm that doesn’t make a direct hit can bring damaging winds, flooding, power outages and other challenges. Having a plan in place before a weather alert is issued gives your team a much better chance of responding quickly and effectively.

Want to know what your facility team should be doing now?

Watch my video, “How Facility Teams Can Prepare Before the Next Hurricane,” for practical hurricane preparedness tips you can put into action before the next storm threatens.
